AC CORROSION
AC corrosion is today recognised as a potential threat to a buried metal pipeline.
AC corrosion monitoring must be carried out regularly for AC levels at transformer rectifiers and test posts. But on-site AC checks are labour-intensive, costly and (importantly) reactive - they do not identify corrosion problems but are merely spot AC measurements taken after a corrosion problem may have occurred.
