Remote CP monitoring is an increasingly important aspect of a well designed pipeline protection system.
CP monitoring must be carried out regularly to enure the pipeline is continuously protected. But manual CP readings are labour-intensive, costly and (importantly) reactive - they do not identify corrosion problems as they occur.
