Stray current monitoring is an increasingly important aspect of a well designed pipeline protection system.
Stray current monitoring must be carried out regularly for CP levels at transformer rectifiers and test posts. But on-site current checks are labour-intensive, costly and (importantly) reactive - they do not identify corrosion problems but are merely spot current measurements taken after a corrosion problem may have occurred.
Abriox’s MERLIN Remote Stray Current Monitoring System takes functional checks at TRs and test posts automatically, analyses and stores the data and transmits it wirelessly to a central location.
