Voltage monitoring is an increasingly important aspect of a well designed pipeline protection system.
Voltage monitoring must be carried out regularly for CP levels at transformer rectifiers. But on-site voltage checks are labour-intensive, costly and (importantly) reactive - they do not identify corrosion problems but are merely spot voltage measurements taken after a corrosion problem may have occurred.
Abriox’s MERLIN Remote Voltage Monitoring System takes functional checks at TRs automatically, analyses and stores the data and transmits it wirelessly to a central location. Remote voltage monitoring for CP is proactive - ie it identifies potential corrosion problems at the test station and alerts the operator immediately.
