The MERLIN CP Test Post Monitor has been designed to fit into a standard test post (type M28 in the UK but into standard posts in other countries as well). External dimensions are 125mm x 85mm x 55mm (5in x 3.5in x 2in) and the unit weighs just 450g (1lb).

This is a sealed, weatherproof unit built to environmental standard IP67 (NEMA 6). This standard protects personnel against incidental contact with the enclosed equipment. It provides complete protection against dust as well as against hose-directed water and the entry of water during submersion at a limited depth. It will also be undamaged by the external formation of ice on the enclosure.

A key feature of our monitors is their lightning protection. MERLIN units have surge protection on all external inputs and outputs to withstand large DC and AC voltages. A movie showing a 38kV test of a MERLIN unit can be viewed here.

With an operating range of -20°C to +85°C (-5°F to +185°F) the Test Post Monitor can withstand significant extremes of temperature as well as 100% condensing humidity.

The product includes two sealed lithium batteries and is designed for a typical life of 5 years. With a good GSM signal this can be longer.
