August 2010 Enhanced Resilience to Lightning
Abriox has upgraded the lightning protection on its remote corrosion monitoring solutions for pipelines, with the help of the lightning test consultancy services of Cobham Technical Services.
The degree of protection of the system against high energy surges has been substantially enhanced by a development exercise incorporating advice on the nature of coupling between lightning power surges and ground-based equipment, and characterisation studies including destructive testing. Download

Northern Gas Networks manages the gas distribution network in the North East of England and announces a strategic deployment of Abriox MERLIN monitors.
Northern Gas Networks pipes gas to 2.5 million homes and businesses across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Cumbria through its vast network of 36,000km of gas mains.
The backbone of the system is the 1,200km of high pressure pipelines, which criss cross the countryside in some of the most remote parts of the region. Download
