Environment

Our monitoring instrumentation enhances the environment by reducing the risk of hydrocarbons escaping from pipelines. By automating manual measurements, it eliminates many thousands of vehicle miles, with their associated carbon emissions.

Abriox is certified to Green Dragon Standard Level Two.

Green Dragon is a stepped standard recognising effective environmental management. It offers an environmental management system relevant to the specific needs of each company and rewards actions taken to achieve environmental improvements.

There are five levels of the standard, with each step contributing towards achievement of the International and European environmental standards, ISO 14001 and EMAS.

Abriox is committed to achieving continual improvement in its environmental performance and to supporting sustainable development. Our policy is to conduct our business in such a way as to lessen or eliminate any adverse effect on the environment. In order to achieve this, we undertake to:

• Use good environmental practices in our day to day operations.

• Use material from suitable sources.

• Use registered waste disposal companies for removal of waste streams. In accordance with UK legislation, Abriox is registered with an approved Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) compliance scheme. We operate an End User disposal policy which requires the End User to ensure environmentally sound disposal of our equipment when discarded in the UK. However, Abriox operates a take-back service and will dispose of the equipment on behalf of End Users in accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Sale. Our Producer Compliance Registration No. is WEE/JG0293UR.

• Always maintain high standards of cleanliness in respect of litter and waste packaging.

• Ensure any cleaning agents are of a biodegradable nature.

• Ensure that any chemicals that are used do not present an environmental hazard.

• Limit to a minimum and strive to eliminate all emissions to the atmosphere e.g. dusts and carbon monoxide.

• Limit to a minimum the use of electricity and gas supplies and work to eliminate any wastage.

• Not use any chemicals that have a detrimental effect on the ozone layer.

• Consider the environmental impacts of new equipment or new work undertaken.

• Lessen the impact of any nuisance noise and work within set hours within residential areas.

• Respect all clients’ policies aimed at achieving a better environment.

You will find Abriox on the Green Dragon register of certified companies, used by customers to verify the environmental credentials of their suppliers and by participating organisations to network and share knowledge and experiences.
