A MERLIN remote CP monitoring system has been installed at Heathrow Airport. The system was supplied through CMS (Corrosion Monitoring Services) to Heathrow Hydrant Operating Company.
Aviation fuel is delivered to Heathrow by various suppliers; HHOpCo manages its distribution within the airport and maintains the fuel pipeline network. The fuel is stored in tanks and delivered to aircraft through pressurised ring mains (“hydrants”) going around the terminals. Each hydrant has a cathodic protection system, which is maintained, under contract to HHOpCo, by CMS.
Abriox’s web-based iCPSM system enables HHOpCo and CMS to access CP data on-line.
